We are now on to our next unit - Fitness training, testing, and prescription!!! Usually when I teach this this unit it it very hands on and you all actually get to become experts on the areas of fitness and test yourselves to see what level you are at. This unit is one of the key units we learn that helps you complete the final assessment in this class (called your personal health report). Since we won't be able to learn fitness the same way a lot of the work will come from you and your ability to try some of the assessments on yourself at home! I know it won't be perfect, but we will see what kind of results we can get.... To start off we will learn about the principles of exercise testing. These are basically a set of "rules" to be followed when designing a training/workout plan. Knowing the principles and how to use them will help any one of you become better athletes and reach your fitness goals! Here's what you should do:

If you are checking this website I am impressed!!! Just wanted to reach out to let people know that they will be hearing from me this week with more concrete information about what to expect for the rest of the school year. I have made us a site on the portal where I will be posting information and sending out course material, so please check to ensure you are signed up properly. Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe! Ms Wood :) Today we finished up with the sports injuries notes package! You got a second handout about injuried last class which you can now finish for homework and hand in.
Next week we are challenging the fitness class to GAMES! Please bring your PE strip and meet by the gyms!! Today we started our unit on SPORTS INJURIES!!! We took some notes and you got a "types of injuries" handout to work on. This is due to be handed in before Friday this week!

Today in class we started working on our muscles movement analysis video projects. You will have the next two classes to continue working on them and they are due by email to me on or before Friday Feb. 21st!
Today we finished learning muscles of the lower leg! Your tracking sheets should now be completely filled in!!
Next class we will hand in our completed muscles packages, so make sure you finish them! Today in class we added muscles of the anterior, medial, and posterior thigh to our tracking sheets!
You should have up to semimembranosus filled in! You will hand in your completed muscles packages on Tuesday Feb. 11th so make sure you work on those also! |
